Jodie
I'm Jodie, a Year 1 MBBS student. I was born in Australia but grew up in Hong Kong, having just graduated from an international school here. Beyond my studies, I'm passionate about a few key interests. Music is an important part of my life - I play orchestral percussion and enjoy exploring a range of musical genres. I'm also a big foodie - in my free time, you can find me experimenting with new recipes or visiting local cafes. Additionally, I really value connecting with people, whether it's spending quality time with my dog, playing board games with friends and family, or simply having engaging conversations. I'm excited to join the university peer tutoring program - as an experienced tutor from my high school days, I'm confident in my ability to explain concepts clearly, and create a supportive learning environment. I look forward to meeting new people, contributing to the campus community, and further developing my teaching skills through this opportunity.

Things want to achieve by joining the programmeThroughout my 4 years of high school, I participated in two service organizations focused on providing educational support for underprivileged communities. My responsibilities included creating teaching materials and lesson plans, designing learning activities with the other volunteers, and delivering private and group tutoring sessions focused on English, Maths, and Sciences. I really enjoyed connecting with my tutees through casual chats and lessons, and it was incredibly rewarding to witness their academic improvement and growth in confidence. By joining the university peer tutoring program, I hope to continue this meaningful experience. It will allow me to share my subject expertise in English, while also developing my communication and mentoring skills. Additionally, working as a peer tutor will enable me to contribute positively to the campus community and interact with students from diverse backgrounds, which I believe will expand my cultural awareness and social circle. Overall, I'm excited about the opportunity to support my peers' academic success while also furthering my own personal growth.
