Tutor’s Commitment & Responsibilities:
- Host practice sessions for your matched Tutees
- Design and provide a personalised learning experience to your Tutees
- Facilitate Tutees’ adjustment to living in Hong Kong and HKU by sharing useful information about the campus and its neighbourhood
- Foster a supportive and helping attitude among HKUers

What is the difference between Survival Cantonese and other Cantonese courses?
Survival Cantonese is not a structured academic course for Cantonese learning. It focuses more on phrases and short dialogues to facilitate non-local students’ adjustment. Being a newcomer to Hong Kong, you will practise the basics for greetings and everyday scenarios.

To attend two 1-hour practice sessions hosted by your Peer Tutor

Join as Tutee by following the steps below:
1. Log in to the system (“Login” button at the top right corner)
2. Complete your profile
3. Go to “Join the Programmes”, select “Survival Cantonese”, and click the “Apply for Tutee” button located at the button of the page
4. Choose the Peer Tutor you prefer and select your tutoring timeslots.
Tutoring timeslots offered by Peer Tutor(s) are selected based on a first-come-first-served basis. No special arrangements will be made after all the timeslots are exhausted.
